FRANKLIN, Tenn. – February 15, 2011 – SPX announced the installation of its ArgusON Solar Power Management™ (SPM) solution on a 1.0MW solar photovoltaic (PV) site in Jackson, Tenn. This site is the largest solar PV installation in the seven-state Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) service region.
The ArgusON Solar Power Management™ solution combines automated solar power monitoring, remote alarm troubleshooting and site management services. ArgusON’s National Operations Center will provide 24/7/365 active monitoring and management for the site to help achieve energy production performance guarantees.
The solar PV system was designed and built by Efficient Energy of Tennessee and is owned by Natural Energy Group. The site is expected to produce almost 1.2GWhr of energy, enough equivalent energy to power 120 average-sized American homes and eliminate the CO2 / greenhouse gases that would be emitted by the consumption of 2,000 barrels of oil.
